Our Mission Statement
Chicago Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center recognizes the importance of pets as part of the family. Our mission is to provide the most advanced medical and surgical care with the utmost compassion for you and your pet while exceeding the expectations of our referring veterinarians.
Common Pet Emergencies
The moment you walk through the door one of our knowledgeable Customer Service Representatives (CSR) will assess your pet’s condition. Any pet clearly exhibiting an unstable medical condition will be immediately placed in an exam room to be seen by a veterinarian, while less critical patients will be further evaluated in the waiting area. Our CSR will collect basic information and ask that you have a seat in our waiting area until it is your turn to be seen by a doctor. Some common pet emergencies are:
- Difficulty breathing
- Major trauma – falls, hit-by-cars, large wounds, broken bones
- Penetrating wounds anywhere (but especially in the chest or abdomen)
